At the exhibition area of GAC Aion, many visitors inquired about the vehicle's range, battery safety, and intelligent systems. "This time we brought five models, both SUVs and sedans, to meet consumers' different needs. We ordered over 50 cars in a day," said Zhao Haiquan, a salesperson at Changchun Aian Chaoshun Experience Center. "Our magazine battery technology has received special attention."
"Many friends around me drive new energy vehicles. Nowadays, charging is also convenient, even if the range is reduced in winter, it is sufficient for commuting in the city." Mr. Zhao, a resident of Changchun, said he was planning to purchase a new energy vehicle.
According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, from January to June this year, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China reached 3.788 million and 3.747 million, respectively, with year-on-year growth of 42.4% and 44.1%.

While the new energy vehicle market continues to grow, favorable policies are constantly being introduced. The policy of reducing and exempting the purchase tax on new energy vehicles has been continued and optimized. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Commerce are actively promoting the introduction of new energy vehicles to rural areas, and many favorable factors are driving many car companies to increase their investment in the field of new energy vehicles.
Chinese independent brands continue to strengthen the technological research and development of new energy vehicles, and build their own core competitiveness. For example, car companies such as BYD, NIO, and Xiaopeng have made new progress in core components such as batteries, motors, and electronic controls.

Subsequently, the Hongqi brand held another new energy technology press conference, showcasing new energy technology achievements and a series of key leading technologies.
Multinational car companies are also accelerating their new energy layout in China. On July 14th, Volkswagen Group and Audi signed memorandums of understanding with China FAW. Volkswagen Group and FAW China will work together to further strengthen the Volkswagen brand product lineup and promote the development of electric vehicle models. Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. will start production of Audi models based on the PPE platform by the end of 2024 as planned.

Shen Jinjun, President of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, believes that there has been significant progress in the development of new energy vehicles for Chinese independent brands, especially in the technological accumulation of power batteries. "The automotive industry is a marathon, and the market share of domestic brands is steadily increasing."
In this context, China's new energy vehicles have accelerated their pace of going global. In 2022, China exported nearly 700000 new energy vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 120%. Multiple Chinese brand new energy vehicles have entered the European market, and the core technology of Chinese new energy vehicles, from vehicle manufacturing, batteries to charging systems, has also begun to be exported to foreign countries.
"In recent years, China's independent brands have been continuously developing and growing, especially with the rapid development of new energy vehicles. In addition, the strong demand for new energy vehicles in the international market has driven the growth of China's automobile exports," said Cui Dongshu, Secretary General of the National Passenger Car Market Information Joint Conference.
