Recently, under the unified command of the Zhejiang Provincial Public Security Department, the public security organs at the city and county levels of Taizhou and Wenling have successfully solved the backlog of the "1992 December 18" murder case in Wenling.
On the evening of December 17, 1992, a major murder case occurred in Panlang Town, Wenling County, Zhejiang Province. Wu Mouhua, his wife Li Moufei, daughter Wu Mouwei, and son Wu Moubin, a family of four, were killed in their home at 31 Xiushui South Road in the town. Some of their belongings were looted at the scene.
After the incident, the public security organs at the city and county levels attached great importance to it. Under the unified command of the Provincial Public Security Department, a special task force was established as soon as possible to quickly carry out on-site investigations, investigations, visits, and other work, making every effort to tackle the case.
After investigation, it was found that the victim Wu Huasheng had been engaged in the second-hand goods recycling business in Heilongjiang for a long time before, and after recycling, he was sold to Taizhou. His family was wealthy and there were no obvious conflicts or disputes with others. The task force, based on on-site investigation and investigation, analyzed and determined that the nature of the case was robbery and murder, with two suspects. Based on the characteristics of the victim's business and place of residence, it is determined that the suspect is more likely to have committed the crime by making a long-distance attack from Heilongjiang to Zhejiang. Afterwards, the task force went to Heilongjiang several times to carry out work, but due to the limitations of the investigation conditions at that time, the case has not been effectively broken through.
In recent years, under the unified command and careful deployment of the Ministry of Public Security and the Provincial Public Security Department, the Taizhou Public Security Bureau has made every effort to carry out the battle against the backlog of homicide cases, comprehensively sorting out unresolved cases, conducting in person re examination, material re examination, on-site re investigation, and file review for each backlog of homicide cases, and implementing listing supervision for major cases. Since 2020, a total of 72 homicide cases have been solved.
Since the beginning of this year, the Wenling "1992 December 18" case has been listed as the "No.1 case" to continue to be tackled. Under the guidance of ministry and provincial criminal investigation experts, the special case team applied new techniques to re analyze and compare the on-site trace evidence collected that year, and finally succeeded in locking suspect Hu Moulin at the end of June this year.

After investigation, in the winter of 1992, Hu Moulin and Wang Mou planned to rob money. Due to Wang driving goods to the home of the victim Wu Huawenling and knowing that his family was wealthy, Hu Lin and Wang drove from Harbin to Wenling, killing four members of Wu Huahua's family and robbing relevant property. After investigation, another suspect, Wang, died of illness in 2021. At present, this case is under further investigation.
