Police rescue:
4 tourists trapped in uninhabited areas for over 45 hours
Including 2 elderly people
According to the Mangya Public Security Bureau, at 15:35 on August 12th, the Mangya police received a report stating that four Henan tourists had been trapped for more than 45 hours in the direction of Lenghu on the Old 315 National Highway in the jurisdiction of Mangya City. The phone could not be dialed, and there were two elderly people among them, making the situation extremely urgent.
It is understood that Lenghu is located on the northwest edge of the Qaidam Basin, and a large area is a sparsely populated and uninhabited area. After receiving the alarm, the Mangya City Public Security Bureau immediately assigned police officers from the Lenghu Town Police Station to carry search and rescue tools, drones and other equipment, and rushed to the affected area to carry out rescue work. At the same time, the leaders of the Public Security Bureau led a reinforcement team, together with rescue teams such as the Mangya City Fire Rescue Brigade, the Dachaidan Public Security Bureau, and the Blue Sky Rescue Team, to provide support.

▲ The police launched overnight rescue operations
After nearly 10 hours of uninterrupted search, rescue forces found four pickup trucks carrying tourists on the abandoned Chalong Road, but there was no trace of anyone in the surrounding area. Rescue personnel can only determine the direction of the trapped person's movement based on on-site footprints, and due to terrain and topography, rescue vehicles are unable to move forward. So the rescue team overcame various difficulties such as rough roads and blurred vision at night, and walked to search.
After unremitting efforts, at around 2:30 am on the 13th, four trapped individuals were finally found in an area about 28 kilometers away from the trapped vehicle. After examination by medical staff, the four tourists were found to be in good physical condition.
The Red Star News reporter noticed that this is the second time in a week that tourists have been trapped in unmanned areas in the Mangya area. On August 6th, 8 tourists, including the elderly and children, were also trapped in the direction of Lenghu on National Highway 315. The police took 18 hours and deployed 4 batches of more than 50 police forces, ultimately successfully rescuing the 8 trapped tourists.
