A volunteer from an animal protection association in Dongli District, Tianjin, told Pengpai News that according to the residents of the affected community, Shengning Home is mostly public rental housing, with most residents being elderly and children. There are more residents who have witnessed a cat falling from a building.
The screenshot of the Shengning Homestead owner group chat provided by the above volunteers shows that some residents have expressed that someone has "thrown cats down from Building 16, several out of 10", while others have expressed that "it's just the owner throwing cats".
Volunteers said that after the incident, they went to the community to inquire, and most of the stories they heard were that the homeowner threw a cat. It is understood that many people were cursing downstairs and saying "don't throw it away", but there were still cats constantly falling from the building.
