On August 4th, it was learned from multiple operators that multiple emergency communication drones were taking off in disaster stricken areas such as Changping and Mentougou. Nearby residents will receive a text message reminding them to use the signals covered by the communication drones to contact their families as soon as possible and report safety.
At 11:15 on the 4th, under the overall command and dispatch of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, a DG-M20 tethered drone equipped with Beijing Mobile's emergency communication system quickly took off from Gaoyakou Village in Liucun Town, Changping District, Beijing, which was severely affected by the disaster.
After the drone took off, nearby residents received a text message from Beijing Mobile, which read "China Mobile's emergency dispatch of drones has arrived over your area, and China Mobile's public network communication can be temporarily restored. During this period, you can use your mobile network normally. Due to the drone's time limit, please contact your family as soon as possible."
The reporter learned that the DG-M20 tethered unmanned aerial vehicle emergency communication high-altitude base station is a new emergency communication method used for quickly restoring post disaster communication and improving emergency communication support capabilities.

When large-scale communication interruptions are caused by natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods, deploying base station equipment in 200 meters of air using drones can ensure communication signal coverage within a maximum radius of 3 kilometers. It can hover continuously for more than 4 hours and support 1400 users to access simultaneously.
According to Beijing Mobile, the drone was urgently transferred from Anhui to Beijing by China Mobile Group, spanning 1000 kilometers. After intense local data adaptation and multi system integration, it has been officially put into emergency communication work.
According to Beijing Telecom, as of noon on the 4th, communication drones from Shaanxi, Anhui, Hubei and other places have been urgently deployed and have taken off from Gaoyakou Village in Changping District, Beijing to ensure smooth on-site signals. The communication drones for this rescue have completed debugging in Changping, Mentougou, Fangshan and other places. Beijing Telecom network engineers and certified pilots from Shaanxi, Anhui, and Hubei rushed to various support sites overnight, and opened debugging and test flights as soon as they arrived at the site.
