Just two days before the opening of this conference, the Third Plenary Session of the 12th Shanghai Municipal Party Committee approved the proposal to continuously enhance the four major functions of global resource allocation, scientific and technological innovation strategies, leading high-end industries, and opening up hub portals, as the main direction and major lever for deepening high-level reform and opening up and promoting high-quality development in the future period. Some experts said that the current training of a model needs to produce a large amount of carbon emissions. If the accuracy of the model is further improved, the emissions may be larger. In the future, researchers are expected to collaborate on models, hardware, data center energy efficiency, data center location, and other aspects to significantly reduce the energy consumption and carbon emissions of machine learning.
