People living with HIV may also be recruited, and Ukraine expands the scope of recruitment
According to TASS on September 3rd, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has expanded the scope of male citizens who should be conscripted into the military during a state of war. The order issued by the organization in the Ukrainian electronic information database shows that citizens with partial physical disabilities will also be required to enlist.
According to the report, people diagnosed as asymptomatic HIV carriers, clinically cured patients with tuberculosis, and patients with mild short-term symptoms of mental illness may receive recruitment summonses. These people will serve in departments designated by the Military Medical Commission.
This decree also simplifies the health requirements for those who intend to serve in airborne assault forces and the Marine Corps.
On September 3rd, Ukrainian soldiers gathered near Bakhmut in the east. The report also stated that Ukraine has repeatedly extended the time for the national mobilization, and the authorities have done everything possible to prevent eligible men from evading military service. They are prohibited from going abroad, and conscription subpoenas are usually distributed in government agencies, cafes, streets, and other densely populated areas. According to Ukrainian media reports, many men have been staying indoors for several months just to avoid being sent to the battlefield.
The report concludes that Ukraine's nationwide mobilization has sparked multiple scandals. The media occasionally reports that the conscription committee is abusing citizens when issuing subpoenas, some individuals who are not suitable for service due to physical reasons are also forcibly conscripted, and several legislators and officials themselves evade service and send their sons who have reached the age of enlistment abroad.
