Peking University Announces "Violation of Appointment Rules for Study Groups": 46 Alumni Appointment Permissions Closed Peking University | Campus | Permissions
Peking University has once again taken action against the unauthorized admission of research groups for visits.
On July 24th, Peking University released a notice on violations of alumni appointment for admission. According to the announcement, on July 21st, an off campus research and learning team called "Peking University Golden Autumn Summer Customized Course" was split into 139 students who were scheduled to enter the school by some alumni through appointment with their peers. Each student was charged 10800 yuan, with a total fee of about 1.5 million yuan.
According to the regulations such as the "Regulations on the Order Management of Peking University Gate" and the "Notice on the Appointment of Peking University Alumni for Summer Vacation in 2023", Peking University will close the access rights to the alumni appointment system for 46 alumni and no longer have the authority to make appointments for themselves and colleagues.
At the same time, the school's security department and alumni work office will further improve the rules for using the alumni appointment system, clarifying that alumni who have made appointments with peers but have not actually traveled with them will have their permission to make appointments with peers cancelled and will not be restored. The school security department will also strengthen the management of alumni to make appointments with peers. If no alumni are found to have made appointments with peers or there are other violations of appointment behavior, the admission authority of those who have already made appointments with peers will be revoked.
In order to meet the demand for summer public visits, well-known domestic universities such as Peking University and Tsinghua University have successively released appointment visits. Among them, Peking University will resume campus reservation and visit channels starting from the 8th of this month.
According to the information previously released on the "Ping An Yanyuan" WeChat official account, an appointment to visit Peking University can be made 7 days in advance through the "Visit Peking University" WeChat applet or by scanning the WeChat applet code. The daily appointment time slots are 09:00-11:00 and 14:00-16:00.
"Safe Yanyuan" WeChat is known by the public. In order to maintain the campus order, individual and team appointments are subject to quota management. In addition, campus visits are free of charge, and visitors are advised to refuse any paid reservation services provided under any name.
However, while many universities are open for campus visits, some teams under the guise of "research and learning" have disrupted the summer order of university campuses.
On July 7th, the Security Department of Peking University issued a notice stating that on July 5th, it was discovered that an off campus research and learning team called "Wolf Dad Tribe" had split their appointments by contacting on campus personnel, borrowing accounts to post appointment and help seeking information on the Shudong platform, and had multiple on campus teachers and students make appointments to enter the school. The notice states that the permission to use the appointment system for organizational personnel will be closed and will not be restored; Suspend the appointment system access for the team's on campus reservation personnel for 2 months.
