According to Agence France Presse on August 20th, local Pakistani officials said on the 20th that a bomb explosion occurred near the Afghan border in northwestern Pakistan, resulting in the death of 11 workers.
Rahman Gul Hatak, a senior official of the North Waziristan government, stated in a statement that on the evening of the 19th, the car in which the workers were riding was equipped with an explosive device, which subsequently exploded.
Hatak said, "The unfortunate victims were workers working at a Pakistani military outpost under construction."
The report states that a senior local police officer, Amir Mohammad Khan, confirmed the bomb explosion and the number of casualties.
Pakistani caretaker government Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar said on X website, "I am deeply saddened to learn of the terrorist attack in North Waziristan. I strongly condemn this violent act and stand with the families of the victims."
