On June 29th, it was reported by the media that Shanxi Daixian Jingcheng Mining Co., Ltd. had concealed multiple mining accidents over a period of more than ten years, and the deaths of at least ten miners were not reported. According to a report by China News Weekly, it was reported that from the start of mining at Jingcheng Iron Mine to the occurrence of the September 1, 2022 landslide accident, in addition to the three deaths in the September 1 landslide accident, more than 30 mining workers at Jingcheng Iron Mine were reported to have died due to a safety production accident. Afterwards, the reporter traveled to Shanxi, Shaanxi, Chongqing and other places to investigate and verify the reported cases of concealment. The investigation found that from 2007 to 2022, the "9.11" collapse accident occurred, and Jingcheng Iron Mine concealed multiple mining accidents, involving at least 17 miners.
On the evening of June 29th, Pengpai News made multiple phone calls to the Emergency Management Bureau of Dai County, but no one answered. At around 18:40, a staff member of the Daixian County Government told Pengpai News that they had not yet received any "documents" regarding the matter and had not taken specific measures. The on duty personnel of the Xinzhou Emergency Management Bureau responded that they were not familiar with the above report content and asked the reporter to contact a staff member surnamed Liu in the Xinzhou Emergency Management Bureau Office. Later, Pengpai News called the staff member surnamed Liu multiple times, but no one answered.
At around 19:00 on the 29th, the relevant person in charge of the Emergency Management Department of Shanxi Province told Pengpai News that the above-mentioned report content has been notified to the relevant business departments, and any progress will be notified in a timely manner.
At around 20:00, a staff member of the Dai County People's Government responded to Pengpai News that a leadership group had been established in the county in response to the incident, and a notice may be released later.
