Before interning at the Hubei Provincial Museum, Hong Kong Lingnan University history student Hong Jinglin's impression of Hubei was only limited to "Hubei Eggs". "Hubei eggs have good quality and high cost-effectiveness, and many Hong Kong restaurants use Hubei eggs." He said that his internship in the past two months allowed him to savor a cultural feast in Hubei, which was both shocking and determined his future direction.
"The important collections of Hubei Provincial Museum, such as the bells of Zeng Houyi and the sword of King Goujian of Yue, can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, allowing me to acquire a lot of knowledge that I had never known before," said Hong Jinglin.
The Hubei Provincial Museum is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Wuhan. During the summer vacation, the queue of people in key exhibition halls can always line up in the hall and circle around a few times. When the museum opened to welcome guests, Hong Jinglin, dressed in a black vest, was already in place. In the past two months, speaking standard Mandarin, he has served multiple positions, including helping tour guides obtain tour guides at the entrance of the museum, answering questions from tourists at the consultation counter, and learning about chimes with children at the experience hall.
"I used to visit museums as a tourist, and this was my first time immersing myself in museum services to understand the operation of museums." Hong Jinglin said that this rare experience helped him answer his inner question of "whether he wants to work in the cultural and museum industry in the future.".
"I really enjoy the feeling of being surrounded by exhibits and cultural relics," Hong Jinglin said. "Next, I would like to apply for an internship at the Palace Museum. I hope to have the opportunity to participate in curation or research work, gain a more comprehensive understanding of museums, and also hope to bring Hong Kong's experience to the mainland and bring it back to Hong Kong during the internship."

"New Friends" and New Missions
Two years ago, Ye Wanling, who was born and raised in Hong Kong, entered Central China Normal University to study and hoped to travel around the mainland due to her advantageous location as a hub for nine provinces in Wuhan. This summer, she chose to intern at the Wuhan Baiji Protection Foundation of the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and made a "new friend" - Yangtze finless porpoise. Because the foundation currently mainly protects the finless porpoise.
The finless porpoise, known as the "smiling angel", has a round head, a protruding forehead, and an upturned mouth that seems to be smiling. It is a rare freshwater whale in the world and also a first-class protected wild animal. The Institute of Aquatics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, where Ye Wanling stayed for a month, is the most authoritative research institution for the protection of finless porpoises in the country.
During the internship, it coincided with the 18th birthday of the finless porpoise "Tao Tao", the establishment of the "the Pearl River Estuary Whale Protection and Scientific Research Workstation", the "All People Love the Dolphin Month" and other activities. Ye Wanling drafted the press releases of these activities, and wrote more than ten popular science essays of the finless porpoise with other interns. She also assisted researchers in conducting physical examinations and cleaning dolphin ponds for finless porpoises.
Looking back on this experience, Ye Wanling's deepest feeling was "touched" - her close contact with the finless porpoise moved her to the vitality of this endangered species; The in-depth communication with researchers moved her to the persistence of several generations dedicating their time to the protection of aquatic organisms; The number of finless porpoises that have stopped falling and rebounded has moved her to the determination and effectiveness of the whole nation to jointly protect the ecology of the Yangtze River.
"This experience has made me want to participate more in public welfare activities. There are still many rare and protected animals in China, just like the finless porpoise. I hope to use my words to let more people know, cherish, and protect them.".

Next stop, Greater Bay Area
In the past six weeks, Chen Jingyi, a Hong Kong student from the School of Law at Central South University of Economics and Law, completed the filing of documents for four cases and the reporting of dispute points for two cases under the guidance of lawyers taught by the Hubei Today Law Firm. "I'm very busy, but I feel a sense of accomplishment," she said.
Lawyers have always been considered a "high-end" profession in Chen Jingyi's mind, and this internship has taught her that basic and tedious work is essential, and laying a solid foundation can lead to long-term success. During her internship, she spent a lot of time reading case materials, discovering controversial legal issues, and then searching for relevant cases and compiling the judgments of different courts on similar cases into a book.
"Although trivial, it is very important because this report can provide lawyers with ideas and also let them know the court's attitude towards these issues, and thus better prepare for the case," said Chen Jingyi.
This experience not only enriched Chen Jingyi's understanding of the profession of lawyers, but also strengthened her determination to become one of them.

Chen Jingyi, who grew up in the common law environment of Hong Kong and studied national written law in Wuhan, plans to return to Hong Kong to apply for a master's program in arbitration after graduating from undergraduate studies. "In the future, I want to become a legal worker in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Familiarizing and mastering the laws of both regions is not an easy task, but I will work hard to learn," she said.
Guo Weixun, Director of the Wuhan Economic and Trade Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, stated that youth development is one of the important areas of the Hubei Hong Kong cooperation mechanism. "Many Hong Kong students have expressed that they have benefited greatly from this internship, and their performance has also shown us that Hong Kong youth have the ability to play the role of a link between Hong Kong and the mainland, and devote themselves to the construction of Hong Kong and the motherland."
