This year, the cooperative's early rice production has benefited from favorable weather, location, and human resources, with a planting area of 3611 acres, high-yield fields producing 571 kilograms per mu, and large-scale fields producing 540 kilograms per mu, achieving three historic highs in early rice planting area, early rice yield per unit area, and total yield. This year's bountiful early rice harvest is due to a series of strong measures taken by the local government to support and benefit farmers. "During the spring plowing season, 1338 tons of fertilizer were distributed to farmers to support grain production, and 30000 mu of early rice seedlings were raised in a centralized manner. Agricultural technology cadres were organized to carry out grain production service activities such as' visiting large households, asking needs, solving problems, and stabilizing early rice 'in various townships, fully implementing the area of early rice production and ensuring grain production." The data shows that in 2023, the area of early rice in the county was 46200 acres, slightly increasing compared to last year; The yield per unit is 505.9 kilograms, with an increase of 28.7 kilograms and a growth rate of 6%.
"This year, it is expected that 280000 combine harvesters will be put into operation in the southern rice growing areas, with overall sufficient equipment support." The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs stated that in order to prepare for emergency operations in extreme weather such as high temperatures, more than 3300 normalized emergency operation service teams for agricultural machinery have been organized in relevant provinces, and more than 5000 drying entities have been contacted in advance to ensure efficient and orderly early rice harvesting.
Since mid to late June, there have been continuous high temperatures in many areas, causing accelerated soil moisture loss and the emergence of drought elephants in some areas. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has deployed high-temperature defense work. "We need to start from strengthening monitoring and early warning, scientific disaster prevention and reduction, and strengthening guidance services, propose targeted disaster prevention measures, vigorously promote unified prevention and control, curb the harm of disease and pest outbreaks, and continuously consolidate the foundation of annual grain harvest," said the relevant person in charge.
