The largest opposition party in South Korea, the Democratic Party of Korea, will hold a 17 hour sit in protest starting from 7:00 pm local time on July 6th, opposing the Japanese government's discharge of contaminated Fukushima nuclear water into the sea.
Spokesperson of the Democratic Party of Korea, Lee So young, stated at a press conference on the 6th that the Democratic Party will take urgent action and urge the South Korean government to express its opposition to the discharge of nuclear contaminated water into the sea. The Democratic Party of Korea will hold a sit in protest in front of the National Assembly building on Yoo Island in Seoul starting from 19:00 on the same day, in order to urge the South Korean government to express its opposition to the discharge of nuclear contaminated water into the sea during the resolution meeting at 11:00 on the 7th.
Li Suying said that from the current situation, the Democratic Party believes that preventing the discharge of nuclear contaminated water is more important than formulating countermeasures after discharge.
