One person, one case! Beijing is making every effort to repair the disaster stricken schools and ensure that they start as scheduled. Each school has its own policy
CCTV News: 275 schools and kindergartens in Mentougou, Fangshan, and Changping in Beijing have been damaged to varying degrees due to extreme rainfall processes in North China, Huanghuai and other areas, which have caused floods and geological disasters. After making every effort to repair and rebuild, the affected primary and secondary schools and kindergartens will welcome the start of school.
The new site of Changping District Special Children's Education School is ready for the start of school, with newly laid artificial turf, added accessibility facilities, and touchable electronic displays in classrooms. In the previous flood, the wall of the original site of this special education school collapsed, the house was soaked, and the equipment and facilities were damaged and unable to be used normally. After coordination, the currently vacant Nanliu Primary School in Changping District has been determined as the new campus of the school.
So far, 275 schools affected by the disaster in Beijing have completed dredging, disinfection and sterilization and housing safety appraisal, and the damaged facilities, equipment, books and materials have been basically purchased; Proper diversion and resettlement work has been carried out for 9 schools and kindergartens that were severely affected by the disaster and were unable to open on schedule at their original locations.
It is understood that Beijing will complete the repair, restoration, and reconstruction of all affected schools in three batches. Among them, the first batch will be completed before September 1st, achieving the opening of schools on the original site of the affected schools. The second batch is expected to be completed by the end of the year and the new semester will officially start next year. The third batch is aimed at schools that need to be relocated and rebuilt, and is expected to complete the re planning and construction in about three years.
