On the first day of operation of high-speed trains on the Xige section of the Qinghai Tibet Railway
Xining, July 2 (Xinhua) - The Fuxing high-speed train with a speed of 160 kilometers per hour was put into operation on July 1 on the Xining Golmud section of the Qinghai Tibet Railway. The reporter saw at Xining Railway Station that a large number of passengers chose this high-speed train for travel.
Early on the first day of operation, there were significantly more passengers inside Xining Railway Station than before. Ou Rui, the first level police chief of the Xining Station Police Station of the Qinghai Tibet Railway Public Security Bureau, patrols back and forth in the waiting hall with a walkie talkie, occasionally helping passengers who come for help. "There were so many passengers today, many of whom came to experience the high-speed train. The first high-speed train had a total of 676 seats, and 612 tickets were sold yesterday," said Ou Rui.

In the waiting hall, signs celebrating the operation of high-speed trains on the Xige section of the Qinghai Tibet Railway can be seen everywhere. Passengers stopped to take photos, looking forward to the upcoming journey.
At 8:30, the C891 high-speed train slowly started, and the first high-speed train from the Xige section of the Qinghai Tibet Railway departed from Xining Station.
Huang Qi, the head of the EMU department of the Rolling Stock Department of China Railway Qinghai Tibet Group Co., Ltd., introduced that in order to better meet the driving needs of the Xige section of the Qinghai Tibet Railway, the locomotive production department has specially developed and produced "plateau type" EMU trains that meet the environmental temperature of minus 40 degrees Celsius and can operate at a maximum altitude of 3500 meters.
The train has also focused on improving its UV protection performance, electrical insulation performance, low pressure heat dissipation performance, low temperature resistance, and wind and sand resistance, making passengers more comfortable and safe to ride.

"Passengers who want to get off at Delingha Station are requested to prepare in advance." Train conductor Gao Na reminded as she shuttled between the carriages. "They, consisting of 24 train attendants, participated in the Xige section of the high-speed train through a series of selection and training sessions. They not only demonstrated their professional skills, but also showcased the charm of the Qinghai Tibet Railway people, allowing passengers to have a better riding experience," said Gao Na.
The train has not yet come to a steady stop, and the drums and gongs on the platform of Delingha Station have already sounded. Delingha Station is a station building for the renovation and expansion of the Xige Quality Improvement Project on the Qinghai Tibet Railway.
The person in charge of the Xige Quality Improvement Project of China Railway Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd. introduced that when constructing Ulan Station, Haiyan Station, and Huangyuan Station, they adopted the construction plan of prefabricated canopy hoisting. This is the first time that prefabricated canopy hoisting has been carried out under high altitude and large temperature difference conditions on the plateau, accumulating valuable experience for future high-altitude construction on the plateau.
After nearly 4 hours of driving, the scenery outside the window changed from grassland to Gobi. "The development of the plateau can be felt and seen on this railway line," retired passenger Guo Ping said as he looked out the window at the rapidly flashing scenery. In the past, it used to take a few days to get to Golmud by train, but now it takes half a day to get there. In the past, it used to be the vast Gobi desert, but now oases and Gobi are intertwined, and occasionally there are patches of photovoltaic wind power facilities.
At 2:10 pm, on the distant horizon, the outline of the city appeared, and the terminal station of the first train, Golmud Station, was in front of us. Train Chief Police Officer Zheng Bihong's eyes were blazing as he looked at the approaching city. His first high-speed train duty on the Xige section was about to be successfully completed, and he planned to share his experience on duty with his colleagues when he returned.
The sound of gongs and drums rang out again, and Gesang Cairen, a villager from Changjiang Yuan Village, Tanggulashan Town, Golmud City, presented a Hada to the passengers who had just got off the train.
