On the first day of arriving in northern Myanmar, I was pulled to visit the water prison? Ningxia Youth Tells Their Experience of Being Scammed: Little Tiger | Little Dragon | Youth
In recent years, there has been a serious phenomenon of cross-border fraud and online gambling crimes. With the increasing crackdown within China, a large number of illegal criminal gangs have begun to relocate overseas. The leaders and backbone of criminal groups hide overseas, using the guise of high salary recruitment to lure young people with little experience into engaging in fraudulent activities or online gambling crimes overseas, causing great harm.
"I dare not recall that experience at all. Every time I think of those scenes, it makes me tremble with fear." Recently, a young man from Ningxia, Xiaolong and Xiaohu, told reporters about their unbearable experience of being scammed to northern Myanmar.
Ningxia Youth Talks about the Experience of Northern Burma: Looking back, I still have lingering palpitations
At the beginning of 2021, Xiaolong, who was originally working at a Fujian electronics factory, unexpectedly met a fellow villager named Ma through a social media app. "Brother, what era are you still working? It's better to follow your brother, eat delicious food and drink spicy food, and have a guaranteed monthly salary of 160000 yuan." Ma told Xiaolong that following him can "soar to success".
Under Ma's words, Xiaolong slowly believed the other party. In March 2021, Xiaolong, who had known Ma for a few months, had already opened up his heart to him. According to Ma's request, Xiaolong left the electronics factory and returned to Ningxia. He then stayed in a luxury hotel under Ma's "warm hospitality" and enjoyed a beautiful life for over a month.
Completely believing in Ma's little dragon, he contacted four friends from the same village with Little Tiger and embarked on the dream of becoming rich together. But they didn't expect that what awaited them was a hellish life.
On April 7, 2021, full of anticipation, they followed Ma's instructions and after several reverse maneuvers, got on the truck arranged by Ma in advance. When Xiaolong saw more than thirty men and women sitting in the carriage with the same anxious expressions as him, he finally realized that something was wrong and immediately sent a distress message to his family. But it was already late, and they had no choice but to sneak into northern Myanmar. Under the escort of armed personnel in camouflage uniforms, they arrived at the place where the nightmare began - the telecommunications fraud park.
"The towering courtyard walls were covered with high-voltage power grids, and there were armed personnel with live ammunition at the entrance. On the first day of entering the park, they were taken to visit the water prison..." Recalling this experience, Little Dragon's lips were trembling. "From 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. the next day, when we returned to the dormitory, everyone remained silent and often woke up in dreams, hearing roommates' sobs."
For Xiaolong, Xiaohu, and others, this is the so-called "human purgatory", where the shadow of death is always shrouded in the heart.
"Due to online monitoring, we cannot report to the police yet. Once the 'boss' finds out, the mild ones will be severely injured and bedridden for a week, while the severe ones will wait to be' shot '." Xiao Long recalled with a pale face, because the distress message before going abroad was learned by the' boss', and he was beaten up by his subordinates. "Almost pulled us to the mountain and buried us alive. At that time, we thought there was only a dead end, but fortunately, the 'boss' was in a hurry to relocate the hideout and didn't spare any time to deal with us."
Later, the fraud gang was caught by the Myanmar police. In July 2022, with the joint efforts of multiple parties, six people including Xiaolong and Xiaohu were successfully rescued and returned to China. Ma was also extradited to China by the Chinese police and brought to justice. In December 2022, Ma was sentenced to 5 years in prison and fined 20000 yuan by the court for the crime of illegally crossing the border, organizing others to illegally cross the border, and committing fraud.
