Guangzhou, July 17th (Xinhua) - The Guangdong Provincial Meteorological Observatory predicted that Typhoon "Taili" will make landfall along the coast from Yangjiang, Guangdong to Xuwen County, Zhanjiang City on the night of the 17th. Guangdong Province has initiated a Level II emergency response for wind prevention, and Zhanjiang City raised the emergency response to Level I at 9:00 am on the 17th, requiring measures such as suspension of classes, flights, gatherings, and work.

During the summer vacation, there are many tourists from other places visiting Zhanjiang. In order to strengthen safety management, relevant departments in Zhanjiang have closed 8 coastal scenic spots and 19 A-level tourist attractions. On the morning of the 17th, the wind in the urban area of Zhanjiang increased, and some tourists from other places stayed and played on the beach of the Fifth Ring Plaza in the Longwan District of Zhanjiang. Zhanjiang Maritime Department deployed 2 professional rescue ships, 3 emergency tugs and other forces in Zhanjiang Port, the east and west of Leizhou Peninsula, and the north shore of Qiongzhou Strait to be on duty. For key areas such as Zhanjiang, Maoming, Yangjiang, and Jiangmen, the Guangdong Fire Rescue Brigade has mobilized the China Rescue Guangdong Mobile Professional Detachment and Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhaoqing, and other detachments across regions for pre reinforcement.
