On the evening of June 19th at 21:00, 17 students from Maichala Primary School in Ludila Town, Yongsheng County turned off their lights to rest and went to the playground to play in the rain. After the on duty teacher Sun found and stopped them, the students returned to their dormitories to rest. 20 minutes later, Sun discovered another student playing and frolicking on the playground. After criticism and education, Sun punished the four students who took the lead in going out to play by using inappropriate methods such as pulling, hitting, and scolding.
After discovering the online video, Yongsheng County established a working group composed of the Education and Sports Bureau, the Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, and the involved townships to quickly carry out investigations and disposal. Four students have been sent for medical examination, and there are two minor extradermal scars on their backs. The other three students have been tested for no injuries. At present, the teacher involved, Sun, has been suspended from classes and the principal, Liu, has been suspended from work. After further investigation, they will be dealt with in accordance with the law and regulations. Yongsheng County will take it as a warning and draw lessons from others to comprehensively strengthen teacher ethics, conduct, and education and teaching management.
