North Korea announces satellite launch failure
According to a report by the Korean Central News Agency on the 24th, North Korea tested a military reconnaissance satellite on the same day, but due to technical reasons, the launch failed. The third test launch will be conducted in October.
The North Korean National Space Development Agency conducted the second launch of the reconnaissance satellite "Wanli Jing-1" using the "Qianlima-1" new satellite carrier rocket at the Xihai Satellite Launch Site in Tieshan County, Pyongan Province in the early hours of the same day.
The first and second stages of the Qianlima-1 new satellite carrier rocket flew normally, but the launch failed due to an accident in the emergency explosion system during the third stage flight.
The North Korean National Space Development Agency stated that it will soon investigate the cause of the abnormal operation of the emergency explosion system and conduct the third reconnaissance satellite launch in October this year.
On May 31st, North Korea conducted its first test launch of a military reconnaissance satellite, but later announced that the launch had failed.
South Korea and Japan claim that North Korea launches an unidentified missile
On the 24th local time, the South Korean Joint Staff Headquarters announced that North Korea has launched an unidentified launch vehicle towards the south.
According to a report by Japan's Yahoo News on the same day, at 3:54 am Japanese time on the 24th, the Japanese government detected North Korea launching a suspected missile flying object. And an emergency shelter notice was issued to the people of Okinawa.
