On July 11th at 20:00, the CCTV reporter learned from the rescue and disposal headquarters of the Wufeng "7.8" landslide disaster that after a full search and rescue on site, two missing individuals were found on the 11th. One of them had no signs of life when they were rescued in the morning, and the other was being rescued overnight. After preliminary judgment, there were no signs of life.
The relevant person in charge of the headquarters said that in the the fourth day of the rescue work, we will always adhere to the people first and life first, never give up any possible survivors, and continue to spare no time to search and rescue the five lost people on the premise of ensuring the safety of rescue personnel.
On the 11th, on-site coordination of various rescue forces was carried out, dispatching more than 500 sets of equipment including excavators, loaders, rescue vehicles, soil and rock transport vehicles, displacement detectors, life detectors, and 9 search and rescue dogs, implementing "three shifts" and changing personnel without stopping the machine. As of 19:00 on the 11th, using the two construction roads that have been opened up, more than 20000 landslides and soil have been transported, and more than 3900 cubic meters of mountain surface have been cleared. At the same time, delineate and reduce the burial area for missing individuals, and conduct a comprehensive and uninterrupted search.
In order to prevent secondary disasters and ensure the safety of rescue and disposal sites and search areas, the expert group dynamically optimizes the construction and rescue plan based on on-site conditions and monitoring data. Strengthen weather forecasting and early warning, expand monitoring scope, increase monitoring points, install 8 new GNSS surface displacement sensors, and conduct comprehensive monitoring of landslide masses. Expand the scope and frequency of manual inspections, and comprehensively monitor the safety of soil and rock construction areas and search and rescue areas. 12 rural houses affected by the landslide will be relocated and demolished to ensure the safety of the lives and property of surrounding residents.
