No casualties! Evacuation today, rumored online that Dingjiatan Village in Mentougou is "gone" Village staff: The village is still in Tan Village | Floods | gone "Village staff
Recently, there have been rumors circulating online that Dingjiatan Village in Miaofengshan Town, Mentougou District is "gone". Videos and photos taken by netizens show that on July 31st, the archway at the entrance of Dingjiatan Village was partially submerged in the ocean flood, and only towering tree tops can be seen next to it. The flood has engulfed the entire village. On August 3rd, after emergency repairs, the mobile phone communication service in Miaofengshan Town gradually resumed. A reporter from Beijing Youth Daily contacted village officials and villagers for verification at the first time: the village is still alive, with no casualties. Currently, the village can only enter and exit, and today the entire village has been evacuated. The People's Liberation Army has entered the village to clear silt.
A villager stated that the flooded archway seen in the pictures and videos is the lowest point in the entire village. Due to the surrounding water on three sides of the village, combined with the water from Yongding River and Miaofeng Mountain, the three streams of water converge together, resulting in a large amount of water and causing the archway at the entrance of the village to be submerged. At present, the high terrain in the north of the village has hardly caused any water to enter the homes of the villagers. Some houses in the low-lying section of the village have been flooded, and some areas have been washed away due to the turbulent water flow. The cars have been severely damaged, and there have been no casualties. "Before the arrival of the rainstorm, we had informed the villagers living in low-lying areas to move. And most of the villagers had already moved. People were safe. The village is still there!" The relevant staff of the village told the reporter of Beiqing Daily that the village had been without water, power, communication and contact with the outside world since around 11:00 on July 31. On August 2, the mountain torrents receded, and the remaining villagers began to evacuate independently. Before starting, the village cadres went door to door to make statistics on the evacuation. At present, the village only went out. Today, the whole village was evacuated, and the PLA entered the village to clear silt.
