Recently, a music concert was held simultaneously in Sichuan and Chongqing, featuring classic songs sung at the Dagu Glacier Scenic Area in Aba, Sichuan. The musician who accompanied the concert was located thousands of miles away at the Fengjie "Top of the Three Gorges" scenic area in Chongqing, and participated in the performance via video connection.
This interactive performance not only allows the audience to travel through time and space, immerse themselves in the music and scenery of the two places, but also witnesses Chongqing and Sichuan working together to promote the integration and development of cultural tourism.
The diverse and colorful tourism resources in Sichuan and Chongqing have always been favored by tourists. However, in the past, the cultural tourism linkage between the two regions was insufficient, and the development potential was not fully unleashed.
With the deepening of the construction of the Chengdu Chongqing dual city economic circle, in May last year, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Development and Reform Commission, in conjunction with the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, issued the "Plan for the Construction of the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor", jointly expanding the cultural and tourism market, cultivating new forms of cultural and tourism, jointly carrying out cultural protection, inheritance and utilization, and accelerating the construction of world-class leisure tourism destinations.

In the summer, Xiong Bin, a tourist from Fujian, and his relatives and friends walked into scenic spots such as the Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area in Sichuan and the Tiansheng Third Bridge in Wulong, Chongqing to feel the beauty of Sichuan and Chongqing's cultural and natural heritage at a close distance, and then called "ease" and "Bashi" directly.
In recent years, Sichuan and Chongqing have linked a large number of famous scenic spots into a string, jointly releasing more than 70 themed boutique routes, such as World Natural Heritage themed tours, Yangtze River Golden Waterway themed tours, and ethnic themed tours, attracting a large number of tourists from other regions.
In recent years, new formats such as urban experiential tourism and ecological health tourism have gradually emerged. Relying on the advantages of dynamic cities, charming landscapes and other characteristic resources, Sichuan and Chongqing have jointly cultivated and strengthened new formats of cultural and tourism consumption through mechanisms such as co creation of formats, project construction, brand promotion, and customer exchange.
Chongqing Hongya Cave and Chengdu Kuanzhai Alley, as landmark attractions for urban tourism in Sichuan and Chongqing, together form a "Kuanzhong Massive" cultural and tourism combination, and carry out deep cooperation in marketing, product promotion, tourist attraction, and other fields. This year's May Day holiday, two scenic spots joined hands to launch a digital badge blessing activity, using interactive digital collectibles to guide tourists to immerse themselves in urban tourism.
"Just show the reservation QR code and ID card to enjoy the scenic spots of Xiling Snow Mountain and Siguniang Mountain in Sichuan. This trip to western Sichuan will save a lot of tickets," said Zhang Chengyu, an employee of a certain enterprise in Chongqing.
This excellent travel experience is thanks to the integration of cultural and tourism resources such as scenic spots, performance projects, and cultural and museum venues in Sichuan and Chongqing, and the launch of the "Million Employee Tour to Sichuan" tourism annual ticket activity. As of the end of June, it has driven nearly 900000 people to travel and accumulated consumption of over 900 million yuan.

In the midsummer, in the Dazu Rock Carvings Cultural and Creative Park in Chongqing, the clear sound of chiseling stones rises one after another. Gao Wanli, the representative inheritor of the county level of the national intangible cultural heritage project "Anyue Stone Carving", is taking the lead craftsmen to carefully carve the embryonic stone sculptures. In the exhibition hall, exquisite stone carvings and artworks leave a lasting impression.
Sichuan and Chongqing provinces and cities have rich historical and cultural heritage, with numerous cultural relics and historical sites. With the advancement of the construction of the Bashu Cultural and Tourism Corridor, the two regions are fully cooperating in key areas such as cultural relic archaeological research, cultural heritage protection and utilization, and intangible cultural heritage inheritance.
The number of grotto temples in Sichuan and Chongqing ranks among the top in China, including Dazu Rock Carvings, Anyue Grottoes and other fine relics. In June 2022, the two provinces and cities jointly established the Sichuan Chongqing Grottoes Protection Research Center, Joint Laboratory, and Science and Technology Innovation Base. Since this year, Dazu Rock Carvings Research Institute and Anyue Grottoes Research Institute have jointly formed a team to carry out archaeological investigation and digital protection of some cliff statues in the endangered Anyue Thousand Buddha Village.
Sichuan and Chongqing also continue to make efforts in the joint inheritance and innovation of excellent traditional culture: cooperate in the preparation of the planning and construction plan for the Sichuan Chongqing section of the Long March National Cultural Park and the Yangtze River National Cultural Park; More than 60 cultural and museum units form the Sichuan Chongqing Museum Alliance; Establish the Sichuan Chongqing Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Alliance and jointly carry out nearly 100 online and offline activities.
