According to a report by CNN on August 20th local time, Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo has declared a state of emergency due to tropical storm Hillary.
In response to the storm, Lombardo had previously dispatched 100 members of the National Guard to southern Nevada. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has also deployed staff to the state. Lombardo issued a statement stating that Tropical Storm Hillary poses a serious threat to the area and calling on all residents to be prepared for flood control, remain vigilant, and comply with the guidance of emergency officials.
