Netizens roast that "the parents' meeting will last for three days": the school has to love parents' training | parents | school
Recently, some netizens reported that their child is about to start elementary school, but they received a notice from the school before the start of the school year that they need to attend a three-day parent training session throughout the process.
According to online pictures, this parent teacher meeting is the first training session for new parents in the school in 2023. It will be held from August 19th to 21st, 2023, from 9am to 12am and from 2:30pm to 5:30pm every day. The format will be offline training. At the same time, the school suggests that to ensure the effectiveness of the training, parents should make work arrangements in advance according to the school's training schedule, participate in the training on time, participate in the entire process, and take good notes.
On the morning of July 4th, the reporter contacted the office of Chengdu University of Electronic Science and Technology Affiliated Experimental Primary School, and the staff stated that it was indeed the case.
"The school organizes this activity every year, which lasted for five days in previous years and three days this year. The activity is mainly aimed at first-year students, explaining the precautions before enrollment, as well as sharing excellent class teachers' lessons, sports and health courses, and so on. The school also spent money, and each training session has experts."
In addition, the staff explained that it is not mandatory for parents to participate throughout the entire process.

"If you are really busy, you can take a leave or have your elders come to listen. The school hopes that every parent can understand us before their child starts school, how to cooperate with the school, and together cultivate their child well."
For the purpose of family school co education, it is understandable that there are some activities in the school that require parental cooperation. If it is a necessary activity like the parent teacher meeting at the end of the semester, everything is for the sake of the child, and most parents will definitely attend even if they take leave. But holding three consecutive days of parent training sessions is definitely a burden for most working parents, and "requiring parents to participate in taking notes throughout the process" sounds somewhat dogmatic.
The problems in family education are unlikely to be improved through just three days of training. Family education is a long-term issue, let alone achieved overnight through one-time training.
There are children at home, and everyone in the class knows that it's difficult to keep up with the fact that taking leave from time to time at work can be a matter of facial expression. Co education between families and schools is a good thing, but schools still need to understand their parents, which is not easy.
