Some people may think that this is a benefit sent by the customer service of the merchant platform. Without much thought, they scan the QR code provided by the other party, and as a result, you enter the chat group set up by the scammer and fall into the scam of the scammer.

Recently, Ms. Sun, a resident of Jinshan, Shanghai, received a strange package with a phone holder, an invitation letter with the signature "Moubao Alliance", and a lottery ticket with a QR code inside.

After Ms. Sun scraped open the lottery ticket, she found herself winning a 10 yuan red envelope and seasonal fruits.

After scanning the QR code on the lottery ticket, Ms. Sun was pulled into a chat group by the so-called "customer service". After receiving red envelopes and fruits, the group owner began distributing brushing tasks in the group.

Ms. Sun attempted the task of recharging 300 yuan for the first time and made a profit of 450 yuan. After completing the second and third brush order tasks and recharging over 7000 yuan, Ms. Sun realized that she had been deceived and went to the Jinshanwei Police Station to report the case. At present, the case is under investigation.

Sometimes scammers not only give you a phone holder, but also impersonate e-commerce platform customer service to give you a bag of rice, a box of fruits, or other supplies, making you go from being skeptical to having absolute trust in them.

After you completely let go of your guard, scammers will lure you to download software for brushing tasks, and you can receive red envelopes upon completion.

After receiving a report from Ms. Sun, the Jinshanwei Police Station activated the emergency mechanism and dispatched half of the police force to Ms. Sun's residential area for anti fraud propaganda. A while ago, media reporters received a package from an e-commerce park in Zaozhuang, Shandong, with the recipient's name and address accurate. But the reporter checked the recent online shopping records and did not purchase any products from that address.

Due to the courier waybill concealing some information about the sender, the reporter was unable to contact the sender.

Opening the package, there is a poorly crafted plastic shell glass cup and a "3.15 exclusive gift" claimed to come from a certain platform. The cup reads "High quality customer feedback" and comes with a QR code, claiming to receive a free surprise by scanning the code on WeChat.

After reading these, the reporter was full of doubts - because the delivery address had never consumed takeout or other product services through the platform, and the reporter had not reserved this delivery address on the platform. Since that's the case, how could Meituan possibly deliver the gift here?

In order to investigate, the reporter scanned the QR codes on the cup and card and found that these two QR codes pointed to another QR code, and there were six words on the page that read "WeChat activity authentication", as well as a blue letter reminder that "this QR code has been securely authenticated, please rest assured to scan the code", and marked "add customer service to receive a free life gift package".

After scanning the code again, the reporter entered a chat page with "Meituan Online Customer Service" as the chat subject, and requested the reporter to provide a mobile phone number to verify the quota for material delivery.

Due to doubts about "Meituan gift giving", the reporter asked if it was Meituan. The other party also admitted that they were not Meituan, but a business alliance composed of top tier brands such as Vipshop, Suning.com, Midea, Supor, AUX, Haier, etc; As for the reporter, "they were randomly selected customers who had previously made purchases in the merchant's store. The gifts given to the old customers this time were provided by Meituan for delivery, and all activities were free of charge and did not require any fees.".

Considering that the phone number is verified by real name authentication and has been linked to a fund account, the reporter refused to provide it. The other party stated that they cannot participate in the activity in this way.

After being questioned by the reporter, the other party stated that if the phone number is in the gift list, they can participate in the merchant's lucky draw, and the prizes include "air conditioning, television, washing machines, etc.". But the other party acknowledges that only through a lottery can gifts be given, not directly.

The reporter continued to ask who the gift giver was, but the other party refused to reveal it and eventually stopped answering the reporter's questions. The conversation had to end.

The third step is to design a so-called "secure scanning page" to dispel the concerns of potential victims and induce them to "scan".

The fourth step is to impersonate the customer service of a well-known enterprise and induce potential victims to participate in fraudulent activities such as "illegal brushing of orders" and "lottery winning gifts".
