NATO members can send troops to Ukraine alone? US Statement Miller | US | Ukraine
According to today's Russian television website on the 29th, US officials have reiterated that they will not send troops to Ukraine.
According to reports, US State Department spokesperson Miller said at a press conference on the 29th that President Biden has no intention of sending US troops to Ukraine.
Miller said, "The President's intention is very clear that the US military will not appear on the ground in Ukraine."
Earlier this month, former NATO Secretary General Rasmussen proposed that NATO members - possibly Poland and Baltic countries - could send separate troops to Ukraine, so as not to involve the entire NATO organization.
Miller did not directly answer this suggestion.
The report states that although Miller insists that the United States will maintain a distance from the conflict with Ukraine, the US military has actually taken action in Ukraine. Last November, the Pentagon admitted that a group of US soldiers were protecting the US Embassy in Ukraine and inspecting military aid to Ukraine. In April of this year, secret Pentagon documents leaked by the media showed that 14 US special forces personnel had been deployed to Ukraine in mid March.
