National level IV disaster relief emergency response activated! The National Disaster Reduction Commission and the Ministry of Emergency Management dispatched a working group to Fujian for typhoon prevention and emergency response
According to the meteorological department's forecast, Typhoon Du Suri, the 5th typhoon of this year, will make landfall along the coastal areas of Dongshan to Putian in Fujian Province from the morning to the morning of July 28th with strong typhoon or super typhoon levels. Considering that Typhoon "Du Suri" may have a serious impact on Fujian and the large number of people relocated and resettled due to the disaster, at 23:00 on July 27th, the National Disaster Reduction Commission and the Ministry of Emergency Management urgently activated the national level IV emergency response for disaster relief. The working group sent to Fujian provided guidance and urged the local authorities to do a good job in providing assistance to the affected population and verifying disaster losses.
On July 27th, according to the arrangement and deployment of Comrade Wang Xiangxi, Deputy Commander in Chief of the National Defense Administration and Minister of Emergency Management, the Office of the National Defense Administration and the Ministry of Emergency Management continued to organize special video conferences and scheduling on flood and typhoon prevention, and held consultations with the China Meteorological Administration, the Ministry of Water Resources, and the Ministry of Natural Resources to assess the development trend of Typhoon No. 5, Du Suri. The video was connected to the flood prevention and typhoon prevention offices of provinces such as Fujian, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, and Sichuan, deploying and strengthening flood and typhoon prevention work in key areas. Wang Daoxi, Deputy Minister of Emergency Management and Deputy Minister of Water Resources, presided over the meeting.
According to consultation and analysis, Typhoon No. 5, Dussuri, has unfavorable factors such as strong landfall, long impact time, wide range, large rainfall, and northward and inland penetration. The rainfall in the southwest region continues, and the situation for flood and typhoon prevention is severe.
The meeting stressed that all relevant departments in various localities should resolutely implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on flood control and disaster relief work, overcome paralysis and fluke mentality, establish a firm bottom line thinking and extreme thinking, and further tighten and compact various typhoon defense measures such as safety management of ships returning to Hong Kong for shelter and personnel going ashore, investigation and rectification of hidden dangers, and refine flood control and security measures for major events such as the Chengdu Universiade, we should make good preparations for heavy rainfall prevention, such as early warning and emergency response linkage, personnel transfer and emergency disposal of dangerous situations and disasters, strictly enforce flood control discipline, and strengthen the implementation of responsibilities, duty on duty and information reporting during emergency response.
On the 27th, the State Flood Control General Office issued a notice to the flood control and drought relief headquarters in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, Henan, Hubei and Guangdong provinces and the flood control and drought relief headquarters in relevant basins, and deployed the prevention of the No. 5 typhoon "Du Surui" and rainstorm floods. The National Flood Control Administration has maintained a Level 3 emergency response for flood and typhoon prevention in Fujian, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangxi and other provinces, and a Level 4 emergency response for flood and typhoon prevention in the Southwest region. Seven working groups have been dispatched to key areas to assist in flood and typhoon prevention work.
