On August 27th, some netizens reported that a student at Nanyang University of Technology posted a video of cat abuse. The information posted by the netizen shows that the student also provided a detailed description of the cat abuse process in written form.
On August 28th, Nanyang Institute of Technology issued a notice on this matter, stating that the school attaches great importance to it and immediately established a special working group to carry out investigation and disposal work. After preliminary verification, it is confirmed that the cat abuse video was sent by Li, a 2020 student of the school.
On September 2nd, Nanyang Institute of Technology released a situation report, stating that recently, some netizens reported that our student Li had posted a video of abusing cats. The school attaches great importance to it and has established a special working group to conduct an investigation. After investigation, it was found that Li had engaged in cat abuse behavior by posting cat abuse videos online and making inappropriate comments. According to the "Regulations on the Management of Students in Ordinary Higher Education Institutions" and the "Regulations on Disciplinary Actions for Students at Nanyang University of Technology", the school has expelled the student from school.
