The Embassy in Maldives reminds Chinese citizens who come to Maldives to enhance their security awareness
Recently, the number of Chinese citizens traveling and visiting the Maldives has continued to rise, and there has also been an increase in cases of water related injuries and fatalities among Chinese citizens in the Maldives. The water and weather conditions in Maldives are complex and variable, and medical security conditions are extremely limited, resulting in a high incidence of water related accidents. Since early April, three Chinese citizens have unfortunately drowned while engaging in water activities in horses, with one missing and one severely bitten by a shark. In order to enhance the safety awareness of relevant personnel and prevent water related safety accidents, the Chinese Embassy in Maldives hereby reminds Chinese citizens who have come to Malaysia, based on the previous "five musts and five don'ts" reminders, to once again provide "first class, second look, and third avoidance" safety reminders:
One is to wait patiently. The domestic summer season coincides with the rainy season in Maldives, where there is frequent rainfall and occasional strong winds and waves, which may cause delays in flight and ferry trips. Please treat it rationally and objectively, and patiently wait for the weather to improve before traveling to ensure safety.
The second is to be optimistic about the surrounding situation and personal property. Before entering the water, please carefully observe the water and weather conditions, pay attention to undercurrents, water depth, sharks, etc., and ensure that the water situation is stable and your own safety is guaranteed before entering the water; When traveling, take good care of personal belongings and ensure the safe storage of passports, mobile phones, cash, etc.
Thirdly, try to avoid traveling alone, avoid unnecessary travel disputes, and avoid traveling when your physical condition is poor. If you have a travel plan, it is best to travel together, choose a qualified travel agency or platform to book your itinerary, carefully read the relevant terms of the contract, pay attention to details such as flight and hotel refunds and changes, overseas insurance, etc; If you feel unwell, please seek medical attention immediately and travel only after recovery. Do not enter the water if you have underlying illnesses or poor physical condition to ensure safe travel.
In case of emergency, please report to the police promptly.
