On June 24th local time, thousands of people from multiple Italian trade unions and political party organizations held a protest in Rome, protesting against the Italian government following NATO to provide weapons to Ukraine and the high inflation affecting people's lives.
TV reporter Yin Xin: On the scene, we saw that the protesters' dissatisfaction mainly focused on the fact that the government was increasing military spending and directly involved in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, but it did not increase the income of workers. However, high inflation and declining purchasing power have made the lives of ordinary people increasingly difficult.

Staley, the marcher: As for the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the responsibility of the United States is huge. As a military organization, NATO has always played a role of threat and coercion.
Protestant Julia: We oppose the conflict because we know it is letting our country be at the mercy of others. We know that providing weapons to Ukraine has become a priority for the government.

A survey recently released by a well-known Italian consulting firm shows that 70% of Italians believe that inflation and high cost of living are currently the most serious problems in the country. The organizers of the parade believe that the Italian government is still far from doing enough to address the problem of declining purchasing power caused by high inflation.
Lucratio, the head of the Italian Grassroots Union Union, said that in the face of all these issues, wages have not increased and purchasing power has not been maintained. Everything has gone up in price, noodles have gone up in price, gasoline has gone up in price, and energy bills are even more expensive.
