The Hong Kong Aircraft Authority stated that it received a report at 0:20 on the same day that a Cathay Pacific passenger plane bound for Los Angeles was reported to have suspended its takeoff due to abnormal signal and returned to the parking spot. The emergency escape ladder was immediately opened for emergency evacuation, and firefighters were on site to provide support. Ambulants were also present to treat the injured passengers.
The aircraft management bureau said that as of 2:30 pm, 11 passengers on site reported injuries and needed to be taken to the hospital for treatment. There are a total of 293 passengers and 17 crew members on board, and the aircraft management bureau dispatched personnel to assist the passengers.

The police stated that the passenger plane suspected a tire malfunction and opened the emergency escape ladder. The injured person was injured while leaving the cabin; Other passengers on board were arranged to go to the hotel. The Government Information Department stated that the injured were diverted and treated at the scene, with more than 10 ambulances arriving. The injured were respectively taken to Margaret's Hospital and North Lantau Hospital.
