CCTV News: In recent days, due to the continuous high temperature, the temperature in Turpan, Xinjiang has risen rapidly. The sustained high temperature has a certain impact on some grapes during the ripening and swelling stages, and local measures are being taken to ensure grape harvest.

Turpan City is located in a basin with low terrain and slow heat dissipation after accumulation. Although the temperature difference between day and night is conducive to sugar precipitation, it is still necessary to observe the growth and development of grapes. At the same time, the local authorities promptly conveyed high-temperature warning information and provided follow-up and guidance in various aspects such as pruning, irrigation, fertilization, picking and sales, fully ensuring the smooth progress of grape sales work.
This year, the grape planting area in Turpan City reached 543800 acres, and the grape yield is expected to be over 1.4 million tons. As of July 14th, over 5900 tons of fresh grapes have been sold, and the harvesting work will continue until late September.
