CCTV News: At 2:33 am on August 6th, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in Pingyuan County, Dezhou, Shandong. At present, over half of the injured in Pingyuan County have been discharged from the hospital, and the affected trains have gradually resumed operation.
The reporter learned from the Shandong Provincial Earthquake Relief Command that according to preliminary statistics, as of 16:00 on August 6th, the Dezhou Plain earthquake in Shandong Province caused a total of 24 minor injuries and 213 houses and walls were damaged.
At present, more than half of the injured in Pingyuan County have been discharged from the hospital, and some rescue forces are on site, while others are gradually being evacuated from the earthquake stricken area. Shandong Province Carrying out Risk and Hidden Danger Investigation of Water Conservancy Projects
After the earthquake, the Shandong Provincial Department of Water Resources quickly organized a post earthquake investigation of engineering risks and hidden dangers, focusing on checking whether there were settlement, cracking, and other phenomena in the reservoir dam, embankment engineering, and buildings passing through the dam. The operation of the reservoir emptying facilities and gate opening and closing devices was also normal, and whether there was any leakage in the reservoir dam, near the dam bank slope, drainage tunnel, water gate chamber, and embankment body.
More than 70 people from 8 stations of Pingyuan County Water Resources Bureau conducted a comprehensive survey of 13 rivers, 44.25 kilometers of embankment roads, 150 water gates, 3 water plants, 2 reservoirs, and 4 water conservancy projects under construction in the county.
