More than 75000 childcare institutions in China have provided over 3.6 million childcare spaces
Beijing, July 11th (Xinhua) - Yang Jinrui, Deputy Director of the Population Monitoring and Family Development Department of the National Health Commission, said in Beijing on July 11th that currently, there are more than 75000 institutions in China that provide childcare services, with over 3.6 million childcare units provided, and the enrollment rate of infants and young children has reached 6%.

At the China Symposium celebrating World Population Day 2023, jointly organized by the United Nations Population Fund's representative office in China, the China Population and Development Research Center, and the China Population Society on the 11th, Yang Jinrui introduced that China has always attached great importance to gender equality and the development of women's undertakings, and improved the level of maternal and child health services. To alleviate the burden of women taking care of children, China is accelerating the construction of a care service system for infants and young children under the age of 3, and striving to make up for the shortcomings of unattended infants and young children.
July 11, 2023 is the 34th World Population Day, and the United Nations Population Fund has designated the theme as "Unleashing the Power of Gender Equality: Raising the Voices of Women and Girls, Unleashing the Infinite possibilities of Our World." The National Health Commission has also designated the theme of China as "Promoting Gender Equality, Protecting the Health of Women and Children.".
