Kenya's Minister of Transport, Murkomen, stated during a visit to the accident site that new safety measures will be introduced after this "terrible" and "painful" tragedy. Murkomen also stated that the Kenyan government plans to arrange for street vendors to move from the roadside to designated market areas to avoid similar tragedies in the future.
