More than 50000 WeChat accounts have been provided to overseas fraud gangs! 157 Suspects Arrested in Software | Contact | Suspects
With the strong support of Tongliao Public Security Department and Tongliao Public Security Bureau, the Public Security Bureau of Kezuohou Banner, Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia, has successfully solved a series of extraordinarily large violations of citizens' personal information after more than 600 days of efforts, and has captured 157 suspect in total.
In December 2021, the Public Security Bureau of Kezuohou Banner received a clue from the higher-level public security organs: there were residents in the jurisdiction who collected a large number of rental WeChat accounts and profited by earning price differences from them. The police found through preliminary investigation that this is a criminal gang that provides WeChat accounts for overseas fraud groups, with strict organization, clear division of labor, and a large number of people. On January 24, 2022, considering the significant nature of the case, with the approval of the Tongliao Public Security Bureau, it was decided to establish the "20220124" special task force.
The task force conducted investigations around the account fund flow and bank transaction records of the involved individuals and found that the criminal gang had been providing WeChat accounts for overseas fraud gangs as early as 2018. There are over 50000 WeChat accounts involved in the case, and the members of the gang illegally profit between tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of yuan. The communication methods between gang members are extremely covert, and the online and offline "account merchants" do not know each other. They are all contacted through overseas chat software, and it is difficult to confirm the identity of the online "account merchants" and the offline "card farmers".
To obtain more information, the police officers of the task force successfully extracted data from the chat software through technical breakthroughs. By analyzing tens of thousands of data, we have obtained information on the personnel of the criminal gang. The members of the gang are spread across 24 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions across the country, with over 150 suspects involved.
After identifying the identities of the individuals involved in the case, the Kezuo Rear Banner Public Security Bureau, under the unified deployment of the Ministry of Public Security, the Autonomous Region Public Security Department, and the Tongliao City Public Security Bureau, launched a nationwide cluster campaign with the main battlefield of Kezuo Rear Banner in Tongliao City, aiming to crack down on and destroy fraud criminal gangs and distribution centers throughout the entire chain.
On July 26th, 12 arrest teams consisting of more than 60 police officers rushed to 64 cities in 24 provinces, including Hunan, Guangdong, Fujian, and Chongqing, to carry out centralized net collection operations. After more than 30 days and nights of efforts, the arrest team captured 139 suspect, cracked more than 30 cases, seized more than 50 sets of electronic equipment, seized more than 50 bank cards and mobile phone cards involved in the case, and detained more than 1.2 million yuan of funds involved in the case according to law. At present, the case is still under further investigation.
