More than 300 endangered species of wild animals and plants are experiencing restorative growth. This is the Chinese answer sheet population for "symbiosis of all things" | Protection | Species of animals and plants
Chinese path to modernization is the modernization of harmonious coexistence between man and nature. At present, China is actively implementing a major project of biodiversity conservation, a large number of rare and endangered species have been effectively protected, and beautiful ecological paintings are unfolding.
This is an infrared camera deployed in over 9000 nature reserves in China, capturing images of rare wildlife activities. More than 300 endangered wild animal and plant species in China, including Asian elephants, snow leopards, Northeast tigers, and Hainan gibbons, have achieved restorative growth, and their habitats and reproductive environments are constantly improving. Among them, the conservation of giant pandas is a successful example of global endangered species conservation. At the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project Base of China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center, the staff took care of the aging giant pandas "Baiyun" and "Ximeng". With the improvement of breeding management and disease prevention and control technology, the average lifespan of giant pandas continues to extend, and the level of threat has been downgraded from "endangered" to "vulnerable".

Chen Rui, a zookeeper at the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center, said: "Baiyun" is 32 years old, which is equivalent to about 100 years old for humans, and "Ximeng" is also 30 years old, both of which are very healthy. They also have a special identity, "Baiyun" is the grandmother of the giant panda "Haohao" who travels to Belgium, and "Ximeng" is the grandfather of the giant panda "Xinghui" who travels to Belgium.
Giant pandas "Haohao" and "Xinghui", as "ambassadors of friendship" in China, are thriving at the Paradise Zoo in Belgium.

Dong Bo, the director of the Belgian Paradise Zoo: I am very interested in the tremendous changes happening in China. China is steadfast and continuously making efforts to promote the coexistence of all things and build a harmonious and beautiful green home, which is a true portrayal of the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. This is a groundbreaking achievement that is astonishing.
In today's China, there are far more species than giant pandas that are at risk of extinction, and high-level conservation methods are helping to protect endangered wildlife. The scene of a group of wild sika deer leisurely strolling along a stream with their young was recently captured by an infrared camera in the Taohongling Sika Deer National Nature Reserve in Jiangxi Province.

In the past decade, from 365 sika deer to 624 sika deer today, the Taohongling sika deer national nature reserve has become the largest concentrated distribution area for the southern subspecies of sika deer in China, and this species has also escaped the risk of extinction. The expansion of the population benefits from sound protection measures and refined management.
At the various mountaintops of the protected area, there are more than ten 12 kilometer long, low vegetation passages that lead directly to the foot of the mountain. This is a special "animal passage" specially opened by the protected area for the sika deer to drink water and forage, as well as to transfer between their habitats. In addition, the latest technological means have also been used for the protection of sika deer. On the basis of massive monitoring data, the protected area is developing an artificial intelligence recognition system to perform "deer face recognition" on sika deer, establish an individual database, and conduct more systematic research on the habits of wild sika deer.

Zhan Jianwen, Director of the Taohongling Sika Deer National Nature Reserve Management Bureau in Jiangxi Province: Currently, our protection is transitioning from rescue conservation to research-oriented conservation. We are no longer solely targeting the growth of the Sika Deer population, but prioritize the healthy, stable, and sustainable development of the Sika Deer population, truly respecting, adapting to, and protecting nature.
Nowadays, China is actively building a high-quality protection system for rare and endangered wildlife and plants. The completed National Park Spatial Layout Plan has laid out 49 candidate areas for national parks, accounting for 10.3% of the land area. More than 80% of the nationally protected wildlife and plant species and habitats will be protected.

Gao Shiji, director of the Institute of Resources and Environmental Policy of the Development Research Center of the State Council: The modernization of the harmonious coexistence of man and nature is one of the important features of Chinese path to modernization, and also the meaning of the new form of human civilization. The construction of China's ecological civilization and the construction of a beautiful China will provide guarantees for the sustainable reproduction of the Chinese nation, and also promote the construction of a community of human and natural life and a community with a shared future for mankind on Earth.
