Minors can quickly visit the Forbidden City. The Palace Museum: Starting from July 25th, large items | Time | Team
Starting from July 25th, teams with over 85% of minors can make an appointment 6 days in advance to quickly enter and visit the Forbidden City. On the 14th, the Palace Museum released a series of measures to alleviate the difficulty of booking tickets and slow admission. Quick appointment and ticket checking measures specifically for minors will be released together.
At present, the Forbidden City receives 40000 visitors per day. During the summer vacation, high temperatures occurred frequently, and the number of spectators, especially underage teams, increased. The peak time for visitors is from 8:00 to 11:00 every day, and the queue for visitors to enter the hospital is relatively long.
The Palace Museum has implemented measures for rapid booking and ticket checking by a team of minors during the summer vacation of 2023. Teams organized by independent legal entities with a proportion of minors exceeding 85% can make quick appointments for minors through email 6 days in advance. Adults in the team need to make separate appointments to purchase tickets. Only one minor team information can be submitted per email.
In order to ensure the safety of the visit, each team is limited to 30 minors, and the ratio of adults to minors in the team shall not be less than 1:10. The maximum number of members in the team is 35. The Palace Museum stated that this ratio will be used for ticket inspection, and admission will be refused if the requirements are not met. The Forbidden City receives 400 teams of minors daily, in order of email receiving time, until they are fully booked. The results will be communicated to the applying unit via email.
After a successful appointment, the adult tour leader can bring the original signed and stamped copies of the "Appointment Visit Application", "Visitor List", and "Commitment Letter" that are consistent with the appointment email information to the ticket window on the west side of Duanmen Square to handle the visit procedures. The underage team can quickly check tickets and enter the hospital through the Meridian Gate with relevant credentials. In case of peak passenger flow, the Palace Museum will adjust the "Love Passage" on the west side of the Meridian Gate and the nearby fast lane to be a dedicated passage for minors.
The Forbidden City reminds that if the information held by the team does not match the appointment information, admission will be refused. At the same time, the qualification of the unit's summer underage team appointment for 2023 will be cancelled. The underage team must comply with the "Notice for Visiting the Palace Museum" and other regulations, obey the management of on-site staff, and not hinder other visitors from visiting normally. Otherwise, admission will also be prohibited, and the unit's eligibility for the 2023 summer underage team appointment will be cancelled.
Starting from the 19th, the Forbidden City will begin accepting applications from underage groups for scheduled visits. It will be implemented from July 25th.
In response to the high summer passenger flow, the Palace Museum reminds visitors to check their tickets and enter the hospital according to the scheduled time, and to visit in a staggered manner. In order to shorten the queuing and security check time, remind the audience to use their original ID card for ticket checking. Those carrying large luggage can go to the storage area on the west side of Duanmen Square in advance for storage.
