Ministry of Foreign Affairs Responds to Japan's Deputy Defense Minister's Taiwan-related Remarks: Advise Japan to Stop Playing with Fire on Taiwan Issue Taiwan | China | Minister
On July 25th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning presided over a regular press conference.
What is China's comment on this?
The current high-ranking officials in the Japanese defense department, disregarding the basic norms of international relations and the principles of the four political documents between China and Japan, rudely interfere in China's internal affairs and damage the political foundation of China Japan relations. The Chinese side is strongly dissatisfied with this and firmly opposes it. It has made solemn representations to the Japanese side.

"Japan, which had colonized Taiwan for half a century, committed countless crimes and bore serious historical responsibility for the Chinese people, should be cautious and introspective. Where do they have the qualifications and confidence to make irresponsible remarks on the Taiwan issue?" Mao Ning asked rhetorically.
Mao Ning emphasized that achieving complete reunification of the motherland is the common aspiration of all Chinese people and an unstoppable historical trend. No one should underestimate the strong determination, firm will, and strong ability of the Chinese people to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
