People's Daily, Beijing, June 15th (Xinhua) - Shu Jueting, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, stated at a regular press conference on June 15th that with the arrival of the summer consumption peak season, residents' consumption needs for holidays, leisure shopping, travel and tourism will be further released. With the support of relevant consumer promotion policies, it is expected that the consumer market will continue to maintain a stable growth trend in the second quarter.
To further stimulate market vitality, restore and expand consumption, the Ministry of Commerce will focus on the following tasks:
One is to continue to improve consumption policies, strengthen departmental collaboration, and promote the introduction of a series of policy measures to support the recovery and expansion of consumption. At the same time, based on the positioning of business functions, targeted supporting measures will be introduced to promote high-quality development of the automotive, home furnishings, brand consumption, and catering industries, enhance the combination, coordination, and effectiveness of policies, and ensure their implementation.
The second is to continue to organize consumer activities well. The Ministry of Commerce has designated 2023 as the year for boosting consumption, and has successfully held the People's Livelihood Consumption Season and the National Consumption Promotion Month. A series of activities, such as the Green Consumption Season and the International Consumption Season, are currently underway. During the upcoming summer consumption season, the Ministry of Commerce will also launch new consumption scenes such as 618, Nightlife Festival, and Digital Consumption Festival. A series of colorful activities will also be held in various regions, which will run through the Dragon Boat Festival, summer, and even longer, adding more confidence to the consumer market.
The third is to continuously innovate consumption scenarios. The Ministry of Commerce will continue to deepen the construction of international consumption center cities, promote the high-quality development of pedestrian streets, promote the construction of smart commercial districts, drive the gathering of high-quality consumption resources, link commerce, tourism, culture, and sports, and create more immersive, interactive, and experiential consumption scenes. At the same time, we will promote the construction of a 15 minute convenient living circle, accelerate the filling of shortcomings in convenient facilities, and strive to create a consumption and happiness circle at the doorstep of the people.
