The officer tweeted that in the case of detecting "hostile targets" entering the country's airspace, the Venezuelan military, in accordance with air defense laws and regulations, used anti-aircraft missiles to eliminate an aircraft in the city of Romulo Gallegos, Apre Oblast.
According to the report, he pointed out that the aircraft had no flight plan, no identification marks, and the responder was also in a disconnected state. It also invaded Venezuelan airspace without relevant authorization.
He said that the plane may belong to local drug dealers, used for drug trafficking, transporting "illegal materials" and weapons.
According to reports, the officer did not provide a detailed explanation of the departure location of the aircraft, nor did he provide information on the identity of the pilot or crew members.
