Management has been strengthened, and West Lake Scenic Area has responded to "suspected settlement of internet famous pavilions": there are tilted pavilions | citizens | tilted pavilions
Recently, enthusiastic citizens in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province have discovered that the popular pavilion in the West Lake scenic area, Xiying Pavilion, is suspected to have been sinking. "I feel like the pavilion by West Lake is a bit crooked," the citizen said, reporting the situation to the West Lake Scenic Area Management Committee.
In response to this, on July 19th, the reporter contacted the Phoenix Mountain Management Office of West Lake Scenic Area. According to Gao Fei, a staff member of the management office, "After receiving a call from citizens, we immediately arranged for personnel to carry out safety management in the area, and immediately contacted professional carpenters, safety appraisal companies, and experts for on-site inspections."
After investigation, it was found that the main body of the Xiying Pavilion is a wooden structure building, and the wooden components above the water surface are not damaged, and the mortise and tenon structure is also not displaced. The reason why the pavilion tilts is because the foundation platform below the water surface has a slight tilt, resulting in the pavilion above the water surface also following a slight tilt in the same direction and angle. Although there is a tilt, based on professional data analysis from all parties, in the short term, the Xiying Pavilion is safe without being affected by external forces.
In response to the doubts and concerns of the citizens, the Phoenix Mountain Management Office first strengthened the management of the Xiying Pavilion, with dedicated personnel on duty 24 hours a day. In addition, experts are working hard to develop a correction and reinforcement plan.
The reporter also learned that in fact, the West Lake scenic area has been paying special attention to the wooden pavilions along the West Lake, and there are several routine inspections every year.
It is reported that the name of Xiying Pavilion is closely related to the "Thunder Peak Sunset" of the Ten Scenic Spots of West Lake. Here, as long as the weather is sunny, one can enjoy the beautiful silhouette of Leifeng Pagoda in the sunset every evening, which is highly favored by photography enthusiasts of West Lake.
Therefore, Gao Fei reminded, "Although the slight tilt of the Xiying Pavilion does not affect safety, we will also be extra careful. If encountering heavy rainfall and typhoon weather, on-site management personnel will guide people around the pavilion, including the bridge deck. We also call on citizens and tourists to cooperate in management."
