Maduro said that Venezuela hopes to participate in the expansion agenda of the BRICS countries. This agenda is expected to be one of the main topics discussed at the BRICS summit to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa this month.
Maduro emphasized that "the BRICS countries are the driving force behind the emerging new multipolar world." He believes that considering the expansion of the BRICS countries at this time to promote a balance between the emerging new world and the new world is satisfactory and hopeful.
He emphasized that the role and leadership of the BRICS countries in building a new multipolar world are crucial in global geopolitics.
He also stated that he looks forward to receiving some positive responses at the summit in August. "We know that the process of joining will take time, but we hope that Venezuela can quickly integrate into the dynamics of the BRICS countries.".
According to reports, Venezuela is not the only country applying to join the BRICS mechanism, and it is expected that applications submitted by multiple countries will be evaluated during this summit.
According to reports, Latin America and the Caribbean region is one of the regions with the highest number of countries applying to join the mechanism. In addition to Venezuela, there are also Argentina, Bolivia, Cuba, Honduras, and Mexico queuing up to apply for membership.
