Looking at the Yangtze River | Hubei: Developing River Sea Intermodal Transport to Build a Golden Waterway Intermodal Transport | Goods | Golden Waterway
Yangluo Port is the largest water rail intermodal transportation hub in central China. In recent years, Yangluo Port has continuously promoted the intelligence and unmanned operation of port production, improving the efficiency of port operation.
In July 2013, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited Wuhan Xingang Yangluo Container Port. General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that to vigorously develop the modern logistics industry, the Yangtze River Basin must strengthen cooperation, give full play to the role of inland shipping, develop river-sea combined transportation, and turn the entire basin into a golden waterway.
To accelerate the efficiency of goods circulation through rail water intermodal transportation, and to use river sea intermodal transportation to accelerate the transportation of goods from the Yangtze River to the sea, based on the golden waterway of the Yangtze River, Yangluo Port will optimize its sea route, strengthen its transshipment routes, and expand its intermodal transportation network, fully promoting the container waterway transportation model of "upstream full transshipment and downstream full diversion".

Nowadays, goods from Hubei Province and its surrounding areas can be directly transported by boat from Wuhan Yangluo Port to Northeast Asia. Through internal branch lines, it can be connected to international routes such as Europe, America, the Mediterranean, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa. Yangluo Port has become a logistics distribution and transfer center and an important "export port" in the central and western regions.
In 2022, the port cargo throughput and container throughput in Hubei Province reached 565 million tons and 3.13 million TEUs, respectively. With the increasing importance of the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the economies of various regions along the river are accelerating. According to statistics from Wuhan Customs, the total import and export volume of Hubei Province in the first quarter of this year was 141.17 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%.
