"Little changes" in exchange for "stable happiness" targeting basic people's livelihoods and promoting ethnic unity among villagers | Linping Village | Changes
CCTV News: Gansu is a multi-ethnic region and a key province for ethnic work. In recent years, Gansu has targeted the basic livelihood of ethnic areas and increased support, allowing "small changes" to bring "stable happiness". After the overall relocation and poverty alleviation in Pingya Tibetan Township, Wudu District, Longnan City, Gansu Province, the local infrastructure construction has been strengthened, which not only promotes the development of industries but also promotes communication and unity with surrounding townships.
At the end of May and beginning of June, in Pingya Tibetan Township, Wudu District, Longnan City, nearly 400 acres of rapeseed were harvested in this mountain ditch called "Jiufang Gou". Villagers told reporters that the yield of rapeseed per acre in this area can reach over 300 kilograms, with an income of over 1000 yuan per acre. Nearly 400 acres of land earn an income of 400000 yuan. And before, this was still a piece of abandoned land.
Yang Zheng, a Tibetan rural resident in Pingya, Wudu District, Longnan City: These small plots of land are all barren, and it takes about 40 minutes for people to walk. The mountain road twists and turns, and the road is far away. The key is that people with rapeseed cannot carry it.

The mountain road that the villagers refer to as winding around is actually a dirt road down the mountain. Due to the poor road conditions, coupled with the friction between the Tibetan villagers in Pingya Tibetan Township on the mountain and the Han villagers in Goulinping Village in Jiaogong Town on the mountain, there have been fewer and fewer people walking this road, making it difficult to transport the harvest in the land. As a result, nearly 400 acres of land have gradually been abandoned.
In 2018, local poverty alleviation was relocated, and over 5700 people from Pingya Tibetan Township on the mountain moved to the foot of the mountain, becoming neighbors with the Han village of Goulinping Village in Jiaogong Town.
After moving to the foot of the mountain, Tibetan villagers started industries such as rabbit breeding and Sichuan pepper cultivation. They also wanted to replant nearly 400 acres of abandoned land in the mountain ditch, which required the reconstruction of mountain roads. But the rebuilt road will pass through Goulinping Village and also occupy some of the land of the villagers. The Tibetan villagers are uncertain whether the villagers of Goulinping Village can agree.

After learning about this idea, officials from the two townships contacted and found that after the road was repaired, both villages could enjoy convenience and facilitate the interaction and integration of Tibetan and Han villagers. So, they divided their work and coordinated communication with the villagers.
Zhao Dingxiang, Secretary of the Party Branch of Goulinping Village, Jiaogong Town, Wudu District, Longnan City: There are some old party members and respected individuals in the village. We are calling for them to work in various aspects, which means that after the road is completed, what are the benefits and how great it will be for our entire village.
After repeated communication, the villagers of Goulinping Village not only agreed to repair the road, but also agreed to shrink some of their own land by one meter inward to facilitate transportation.

At the end of 2022, with the help of a special fund of 1.8 million yuan from the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau of Wudu District, Longnan City, this 5.3 kilometer village road connecting Pingya Tibetan Township to Goulinping Village in Jiaogong Town to the "Jiufanggou" field was completed. Nearly 400 acres of abandoned land were replanted this year.
Wang Heier, a villager from Goulinping Village, Jiaogong Town, Wudu District, Longnan City: It brought convenience. I drove my tricycle to the side of the ground, which made it very convenient for me to fertilize. In the past, I had to rely on manual labor.
Zhang Wenfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Pingya Tibetan Township, Wudu District, Longnan City: It is not only an industrial road, but also a connecting road. After the road was completed, the common people worked together and exchanged ideas during the day. In the evening, Pingya held a folk culture called bonfire parties and dancing Guozhuang dance. The surrounding people came up to dance Guozhuang with our Tibetan compatriots, which was very harmonious.

Starting from May this year, every weekend and holiday, villagers of Pingya Tibetan Township will hold a bonfire party on the square, attracting one or two thousand villagers and tourists from surrounding villages and towns each time. Accompanied by lively songs, people of all ethnic groups hold hands and dance happily, with laughter and joy lingering in the summer night sky, creating a joyful and peaceful atmosphere.
