Lijiang Cultural and Tourism Bureau: Nonsense, tour guide claims to promote traditional Chinese medicine as a political task, agricultural and sideline products | tour guide | politics
On July 21st, according to a report by Pengpai News, a tour guide recently claimed in a car that local agricultural and sideline products were severely unsold due to the impact of the epidemic, suspected of inducing tourists to purchase traditional Chinese medicine, and also stated that it was a political task entrusted to them by the government and the tourism bureau. The Lijiang Cultural and Tourism Bureau responded that the tour guide is talking nonsense and will verify and handle it.
Recently, netizens posted a video on social media stating that during a group trip with their family in Yunnan, the tour guide claimed in the car that the local agricultural and sideline products were severely unsold, and they took everyone to the wholesale center for medicinal herbs before meals. "This is a political task assigned by the Lijiang Municipal Government to the tour guide.".
In a video circulating online, a woman said, "Now we need to complete a political task in the car, which is something that our Lijiang tour guide must do. Local farmers are planting things from the ground, which is very unsold, so the Lijiang Tourism Bureau of the Lijiang Municipal Government entrusted this political task to our tour guide. The thing I want to promote in the car now is medicinal materials. The restaurant we will go to for dinner later is in a farmer's market, where there is a wholesale center for medicinal materials. I invite everyone to spend about ten minutes and twenty minutes to take a look. If necessary, you can also bring it around."
In the video, the tour guide emphasized that he would not force shopping, but secretly reminded some tourists that their shopping and consumption records were zero.
The tour guide said, "There is no mandatory word in my dictionary, but I checked the computer system and many of my friends are still zero. We also know that when we pay so little money, we have to spend it. You can't do tens of thousands or even tens of thousands of things, but I think hundreds of things should be fine. Medicinal herbs are a necessity for daily life, and we locals don't even have the three highs, and those who have cancer are basically invisible."
Tourists question the series of statements made by the tour guide on the car as an inducement to shop. The tourist said, "She has been emphasizing that the government requires each of us tourists to buy local agricultural and sideline products and support the development of Yunnan. We want to know if the government is forcing us."
Regarding the above video content, a staff member of the Lijiang Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism stated that the tour guide was talking nonsense and a specialized department will verify and handle it.
The staff member said, "The tour guide should be talking nonsense, and the city government cannot assign such tasks to individuals."
