We often hear a saying, "To see a problem, we need to look comprehensively, in a connected way, and in a developmental way." This is a requirement for us to have a systematic understanding of things. In idioms, "the blind touch the elephant", "the headache heals the head, the foot aches the foot", and "carving a boat to seek a sword" refer to the phenomenon of one-sided view, isolated view, and static view of problems. What is a system concept? System concept is a fundamental idea and working method. Dialectical materialism holds that all things are interrelated and interdependent, and that things and their various elements influence and constrain each other. The whole world is an interconnected whole and a system of interaction. Only by adhering to a systematic concept and observing things from a universally connected, comprehensive, and evolving perspective can we grasp the development laws of things and smoothly promote career development. If you only see the trees, not the forests, only look at the present, not the long term, only look at the phenomena, not the essence, then when facing complex problems, you often overlook one aspect and lose the other, pressing the gourd to float.

The CPC has always attached great importance to the need to systematically understand and solve problems. For example, Mao Zedong once made a vivid analogy called "playing the piano". To play the piano well, relying solely on one or a few fingers is definitely not enough. Ten fingers must work together to play beautiful music. Deng Xiaoping proposed that the construction of material civilization and spiritual civilization should be tackled with both hands, and both hands should be firm.

At present, China's total economic output has become the second largest in the world, but it is still in the primary stage of socialism and is undergoing extensive and profound social changes. "The boat is more urgent when it comes to wandering in the middle." Faced with various difficulties and even multiple challenges on the new journey, it is particularly necessary to adhere to and apply a systematic perspective, handle relationships in all aspects, coordinate interests in all aspects, and mobilize enthusiasm in all aspects.

So, how can we adhere to a systematic mindset? The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China provides us with three golden keys: forward thinking, global planning, and overall promotion.

Firstly, forward thinking is necessary. The development of anything is a process, and history, reality, and the future are interconnected. The idiom "a lesson from the past" contains rich wisdom. Indeed, many things that have happened today can be traced back in history, and many of them can also serve as a mirror for today. Only through the study of history and reality can we understand the development trends of things, predict the future with scientific strategies, and lead the future.

Some American media once commented that Western leaders only consider the current one or two years, at most only four or five years during their term, while Chinese leaders have a vision of 50, 100, or even 200 years. For example, the "14th Five Year Plan" we formulated is based on five years, planning for fifteen years, and focusing on the "second century", in order to outline the future and look forward to the future. As the saying goes, "Those who do not plan for the world are not enough to plan for a moment; those who do not plan for the whole are not enough to plan for a region.".

This leads to the second point, global planning. The basic viewpoint of systems theory is that the whole is composed of parts, but the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. As the ancients said, "Those who achieve the greatest can balance the smallest." Understanding the global aspect will make them better at using the local aspect. Looking at the problem from a global perspective is like climbing high and looking far, naturally "seeing the mountains at a glance is small". It can not only avoid the misconception of "seeing trees but not the forest", but also occupy the strategic high ground.From the "3820" project in Fuzhou to the "88 Strategy" in Zhejiang, and then to the "Five in One" and "Four Comprehensives", it fully reflects the foresight and strategic planning of General Secretary. On a macro level, this applies to specific areas as well.

After listening to the introduction, General Secretary said that the governance of the Yellow River Basin should adhere to a systematic concept. This is to plan the Yellow River as an organic whole, with upstream water conservation, midstream soil and water conservation, and downstream wetland protection. It can be said that it is tailored to local conditions and divided into different regions, working together to manage a game of chess. It is precisely under the guidance of this systematic concept that in recent years, we have integrated the promotion of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grasslands, and sands, and continuously increased efforts in protection and management, achieving remarkable results in ecological civilization construction. Today in the Yellow River Delta, the sea breeze blows, the reeds sway, and the geese fly, creating a peaceful atmosphere. As a Dongying person who grew up at the mouth of the Yellow River, this scene has given me a special sense of familiarity.

The third is to promote overall progress. Socialism with Chinese characteristics is a comprehensive development of socialism. Here, "comprehensiveness" is not fragmented, but integrated and linked. China needs to be strong in all fields and aspects, and cannot be too long or too short. In the governance of the country, General Secretary emphasizes both overall planning and balance, as well as prioritizing the resolution of major contradictions and their main aspects, driving the overall situation with breakthroughs in important areas and key links. For example, we will comprehensively build a moderately prosperous society, covering all regions, populations, and fields, while also making poverty alleviation a bottom line task; Comprehensively deepening reform, not only making top-level designs, but also daring to break into deep water areas and tackle tough challenges. For example, the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China not only made comprehensive arrangements for the development of the Party and the state in the coming period, but also made separate arrangements for the work of education, science and technology talents, rule of law, and national security.
