Li Qiang Meets with New Zealand Prime Minister Johns Hopkins
On the morning of June 28th, Premier Li Qiang held talks with New Zealand Prime Minister Johns Hopkins, who was on an official visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People.
Li Qiang stated that over the past 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and New Zealand, the relationship between the two countries has always been at the forefront of China Western relations, becoming a model of win-win cooperation between countries with different social systems, historical and cultural backgrounds, development stages, and economic sizes. Next year, China and Singapore will celebrate the 10th anniversary of establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership. China is willing to further deepen traditional friendship with New Zealand, jointly promote cooperation in various fields to a higher level, better benefit the people of both countries, and benefit the Asia Pacific region and the world.
Li Qiang pointed out that solving common problems faced by humanity requires unity, cooperation, mutual benefit, and win-win outcomes, which is the right path for humanity. In the process of promoting modernization in China, the door to China's opening up will only continue to widen. China is willing to share with New Zealand the new opportunities brought by China's development, tap into the potential for cooperation, and achieve better mutual benefit and win-win results. Both sides should make good use of the upgraded protocol of the China Singapore Free Trade Agreement to promote trade and investment to a new level. Explore the potential of digital economy, green economy, creative industry and other fields, and create new momentum for cooperation in emerging fields. Jointly advocating for free trade, supporting cooperation in the Asia Pacific region, and expanding the "new space" of regional economic cooperation. Promote cooperation in fields such as education and tourism, and tighten the "new bond" of cultural exchanges.
Hopkins stated that China plays a very important role in global and regional affairs. China and New Zealand are committed to strengthening communication, enhancing understanding, properly handling differences, and conducting extensive and in-depth cooperation at all levels and in various fields. New Zealand firmly adheres to the One China policy and is excited by the opportunities brought by China's expansion of opening up. After the meeting, the two prime ministers jointly witnessed the signing of multiple bilateral cooperation documents in science and technology, education, agriculture, forestry, quarantine, food safety, intellectual property, and other areas.
Before the meeting, Li Qiang held a welcome ceremony for Hopkins in the North Hall of the Great Hall of the People.
