Leading! China's self-developed "Full Motion Flight Simulator Visual System" achieves key technological breakthroughs in simulators | Technology | China
CCTV News: On June 20th, China's first aviation safety and simulation research laboratory was established in Zhuhai and officially released China's first fully self-developed "full motion flight simulator visual system". The overall achievements of this project are at the international advanced level, achieving breakthroughs in key technologies of self-developed visual systems.
It is reported that China's first fully independently developed full motion flight simulator visual system is the world's first new generation visual system based on game technology and self-developed virtual image display technology, which has enabled China to reach the world's advanced level in the field of visual engine hyper realistic simulation and high optical performance virtual image technology in the full motion flight simulator visual system.

As the main equipment for civil aviation pilot training, a full motion flight simulator typically consists of five major components: a simulated cockpit, motion system, visual system, computer system, and instructor console. Among them, the visual system, which is the visualization of the environment, is one of the most crucial parts used to simulate the scene seen during flight.
It is reported that the new generation visual system released this time can "rebuild" a 2000 square kilometer city in half a day, "build" one airport in three days, improve the efficiency of digital asset production by more than ten times, and enhance polygon generation and rendering capabilities by more than a hundred times, making China's full motion flight simulator visual system the first to achieve intergenerational upgrades globally.

In addition to visual simulation systems, the Aviation Safety and Simulation Research Laboratory will also conduct research and development in areas such as flight simulation, flight safety prevention and control, flight big data, and simulator motion systems.
The new generation of visual system is expected to cover all airports in China

It is reported that 70% of the pilot's information comes from vision. What role can the visual system, as one of the five major systems of a full motion flight simulator, play in the pilot training process? What are the application prospects of the new generation of visual systems?
Entering the interior of the simulator, we can see that the cockpit inside is completely replicated one-to-one with the real cockpit, and most importantly, the environment outside the porthole is presented in real images of the relevant airport. Moreover, using computer technology, electronic sensing technology, and hydraulic transmission technology, the simulator can also achieve all-round movement with 6 degrees of freedom.

According to relevant regulations, the training standard for civil aviation pilots in China is that each person must complete one retraining on the simulator every six months, with at least 12 hours each time.
The person in charge of the Aviation Safety and Simulation Research Laboratory introduced that in order to enable pilots to experience more simulation scenarios of domestic airports during simulator training, relevant technological innovations will be fully utilized in the future to build larger scale urban scene reconstruction and strive to cover all airports in the country.
