CCTV News: The 2023 International Digital Energy Exhibition will be held in Shenzhen from June 29th to July 2nd. During the exhibition, China's first independently developed digital intelligent speed control system for large-scale pumped storage units was officially unveiled. This marks an important breakthrough in China's pumped storage control and protection capabilities, as well as key equipment technologies. At present, the system has been put into use in Guangzhou.

At the Guangzhou pumped storage power station, with the rapid rotation of the unit turbine, this nationally produced digital intelligent speed control system has been officially put into use. Pumped storage power stations refer to the construction of two reservoirs on the mountain and at the foot of the mountain. During low electricity consumption periods, surplus electricity is used to pump water onto the mountain, and during peak electricity consumption periods, water is released to generate electricity. This way, surplus clean energy can be stored and is known as the "charging treasure" of the power system.

The localization level of the gearbox in this pumped storage power station can be roughly divided into equipment level, component level, and component level. Among them, the component level has the highest degree of autonomy and controllability, and all key technical components in the entire equipment have achieved domestic autonomy and controllability.
